Week 1 Term 3

Salut,

It's the first day of Term 3 today! This term is loaded with activities, trips and events:
Week 2 Monday we have a Powhiri to welcome two new teachers into the school. One of them is Mrs Cunningham, the teacher I had at primary for year 5 & 6. The other teacher I'm not sure the name of.
Week 3 there is WIMS sevens on Tuesday and WIMS Band & Orchestra on Thursday, which is for band people.
Week 4 we have WIMS Cross Country, which is where a few of the fastest runners from our school trial and go to WIMS Cross Country, which isn't held at our school.
Week 5 Friday we have Interhouse Cross Country, the Cross Country that we start training for today. We have five weeks to prepare for the course on the actual day, and, since we are a school in town, we are running on the streets. The whole Cross Country track is a bit over 3KM around the town area, and it is hard to finish, especially on the hills.
Week 6 there is WIMS Netball.
Week 7 is NZ Aims Games, where the best players for each sport go to compete against other schools in the North Island.
Week 8 is WIMS Kapahaka, and I'm not really sure what that is.
Week 9 is the last week of term, and that Sunday, daylight savings starts.

For Tech Arts, the year 8's are still doing Food.
We got to choose if we made sushi or wedges, and I am making wedges. All we have to bring for it is two large potatoes.

We also have SLCs (Student Led Conferences) this term, which is where students talk to parents with their teachers about their progress and success throughout the year so far.

Au Revoir.
