Tech Arts
Tuesday & Friday
This week, as always, we have had Tech Arts. On Tuesday this week we learnt a lot of new things about science and cause and effect. Our project for Tuesday was making soap structures! Soap in the shape of cupcakes. While making soap cupcakes, I learnt how to melt and color soap, then poar it into a rubber cupcake mold. Then we had to do the same steps, but with a different color of our choice. Then we poured the second color on top of the first color until the cupcake mold was full. We put them in the fridge to cool down for 20 minutes, then we took it out again. I learnt that when you put colored, hot melted soap on top of another color of the same heat, the bottom color came to the top! That was what happened to mine, so I had blue streaks in my orange. Once they had cooled down, we added some 'decorations' to the top of the soap cupcakes.
Extension Art
Progress over the weeks
As you might have known from my current blog posts, I am involved in Extension Art. Over the last five or so weeks, I have been building progress on my canvas, trying to get the colors and details correct. So far I have been working on getting the details of the water for my waterfall painting. I have learnt some new ways to mix colors and get more details.
French
Lessons
This week was my first Friday lesson of French! Every time a French lesson has been on, I have been away from school. In this week's French lesson, we all learnt about pronunciation and names of animals and different types of pets; cats, dogs, rabbits, fish, birds etc.
Sports
For the last few weeks
For the last few weeks of this term we have been doing sports, but, unfortunately, I haven't got much to say about sports because I have been unable to do it for the last couple of weeks, and I will be unable to do it for the next two or three weeks.
Camp
Next week
Next week on Wednesday morning, we are leaving for our three day long camp at the Narrows with Room 7. I will not be able to do too much because of my injury. I am really excited and soon, when I come back, I will do a blog post with photos about everything I learnt and did on camp.
Mufti Day
Next Tuesday
Next Tuesday is Mufti Day! The theme for this term's mufti day is Sports.
School Concert
Next Tuesday
As well as mufti day, we also have a school concert, that is happening during lunch time.
Foot Injury
Sports Absence
Two weeks ago I broke my foot at gymnastics! I broke it by trying a round off back handspring, but I did the back handspring too high. Because I did it too high, and I miss interpreted what time I had to land, so I landed wrong, and heavily, fracturing the growth plate below my smallest toe. So now I have a Moonboot for the next couple of weeks.

The first two week term holidays are in one week!
