Bonjour,
In week two, we have a lot of testing. On Monday we have a PAT Maths test after interval, and we also have more testing on Tuesday and Wednesday.
Starting from this week, we have five Life Education units in the mobile classroom with Nicky. This year she is teaching us about drugs, alcohol and addictions, and how we can end our addictions. Did you know that alcohol is actually a drug? So, when you drink alcohol, you are actually taking drugs. Most adults and adolescents don't know this, and a lot of them, even if they did know that, they would still continue to drink alcohol.
On Monday we had Life Education in the last block for the whole block.
For Maths on Monday, we are continuing Probability and we are doing Tree Diagrams.
Last Friday we finished Art for Tech Arts and started a new Tech Arts on Tuesday. The new Tech Arts that we started on Tuesday was soft materials. I am not that good at sewing, and we have to make a polar fleece jersey...On Tuesday we designed our sweatshirts and mine is going to have a white 'body', and leopard print fabric on the sleeves, hood, front pocket and my name on the back. I might put my favorite number on the back or the front, but I'm not sure...
On Wednesday, we had Jump Jam in the afternoon like we always do.
On Thursday there was the normal Extension Art and school singing.
On Friday, I had Sailing, and i went to Lake Ngaroto to do that. There was also a really big event happening at school, which was the Grandparents concert. This is where your Grandparents or other relatives come in the morning and they look around at your classroom and your school, and then they get a morning tea. Then after lunch, the actual concert starts. In the concert, the band play a lot of songs, then some people do solos. The Jump Jam team are also performing and so are the Kapahaka I think. The concert lasts almost the whole last block, and all the Grandparents coming get to watch it, and so do all the students.
Going back to Sailing, that Friday was the first time I had ever tried Sailing, and it was really fun. I learnt a lot, and also, the weather was great, so it was an enjoyable day.
Au Revoir.
