Week 9 Term 2

Hi,

Tomorrow, for the FIRST TIME in about four weeks, we are going to have Friday Tech Arts! Yay! I'm as excited as I am because we haven't had Tuesday Tech Arts for as long as that either. Tomorrow as well, it is IH Jump Jam, which stands for "Inter House Jump Jam". Where the four houses (Puniu, Mangapiko, Waipa and Waikato), compete with Jump Jam songs, the teachers judging on their accuracy with the moves, and their enthusiasm as well.

Also, a big hit for this week is Production! Every member of the crew has worked hard, and tonight id the last night available to watch the show, and if you still want to watch it, there a ticket sales at the door, and photos will probably be put on our school website, Te Awamutu Intermediate School. Look under
"Our People", or "About" for the photos, and there might even be a video, probably put there by Mr Monk.

Sadly this week, Waipa did not win School Singing today, Mangapiko did, but we have won it lots of other times anyway, so it is not tooooo much of a loss. We seem to be on a bit of a losing strike at the moment, having lost this weeks'  Wednesday Jump Jam yesterday, to Room 15. Anyway, I went and watched the Production Tuesday night, and it was magnificent, apart from a few unexpected mistakes, but no one is perfect. I can't think of much else to write, so I'll add in a bit of French. Au Revoir! (Goodbye!)

This week hasn't produced too much, and we haven't done anything new. The last time we had Tech Arts, was last Friday! We had started the first steps of making a battery powered circuit. We were up to connecting everything so that the power went round, but we didn't have enough time before the bell went, so next time we will be continuing with them, and I will try get a photo.

 This is a video of the Jump Jam last week:

For passion hour I have answered all my additional questions that go with my main one; What has been the worst natural disaster on the last ten years? So far I don't know how I'm going to present it, but I have saved some photos for when I do figure out which way I will do it. These are a few of them:

Earlier this week I learnt how to find the are of Tapeziums. This is how you do them:

They are measured in this example with "a", "b" and "h". So you add "a" and "b", and then multiply them by "h" to get the area.

I also learnt how to convert metric measures.

These are metric measures:

Length;

~mm
~cm
~m
~km

Mass;

~ml
~L
~KL

Weight;

~mgm
~gm
~kg
~tonnes

Bonjour,  as you know, it was the Queen's Birthday just yesterday, so it was a long weekend according to the fact that her birthday was on Monday, even though it probably would have been a long weekend if it was on Sunday as well. Tomorrow is French, like every Wednesday, and I so hope it's on! I have learnt heaps of words already, and hope to carry on my French, and go to Noumea next year. It is buried with the cluster of islands gathering in between New Zealand and Australia in the Pacific Ocean. (The Pacific Islands) It got taken over by the White French, and now many French go there and tour the mini world of France, built as a sculpture, making a short journey for someone in Australia or New Zealand. Even though I badly want to go this year, I will probably be going next year, since I will only be allowed to go one year, and plus, if I do it next year, i'll have a lot more knowledge than I did last year! Au revoir!
