Week 7
Bonjour!!!
These two weeks have been learning filled and exciting. I can't believe how quickly the term- let alone the year has gone!!! It is nearing the end of Term 4, and there are still a few things that need to happen.
The school year ends on the 16th December, a Wednesday, so I finish school two days before my siblings!!! :)
This week (7) was the disco!!!!!
I didn't go, but I heard heaps about it, and it would've been really cool to be there too!!!!!
Next week is WIMS Athletics, so good luck to the TAI students doing it!

Week 3 Term 4
There's bad news and good news...
Bad news first: I didn't get into the mountain biking trip!! =( This was because there were too many people who wanted to be in it, so the priority was given to year 8's, because duh, they won't be here next year. But my name is going to be put down for the first trip next year. YAAAAAAAY!!!!
Now for the GOOD NEWS!!!!
Every year Life Education comes to our school, and the truck is here at the moment, so we are going next week!!!! =) Also, Yr 6 Testing is next week!!!!

Week 2 Term 4
WOW!!!!
I can't believe that it's
already!!!!! The year has gone by so incredibly fast and I have learnt and picked up so much! I am satisfied with the two paintings I have so far completed in extension art (a puppy and a kiwi fruit).
No French this week because of interviews for the year sixes that will be here in ONE TERM!!!!! =O!
In just a week we change to a new cycle for Tech Arts, and next I have Food Tech!!!!

I have put my name down for the mountain biking trip later this term, so HOPEFULLY I get in, but there were a lot of people wanting to go in it other than me, so the priority will probably be given to year 8's.
Even so, wish me luck!!! =)

(Thursday) Week 10, Term 3
Salut! Tout le monde! Comment allez-vous? (Hey everyone! How are you?)
It is the last week of term! YAY!
Yr 7 Speeches were yesterday and Rowan got 2nd! Yr 8 speeches are this afternoon, and three people from our class are in it, Amelia, Kylie and Oksana.
I have learnt a lot in French since the last lesson, and I am super-excited!
I have learnt how to say my family tree:
Mon grand-pere s'appelle ____ Mon grand-pere s'appelle___
(My granddad is called___) (My granddad is called___)
Ma grand-mere s'appelle____ Ma grand-mere s'apelle___
(My grandma is called___) (My grandma is called___)
Mon pere s'appelle___ Ma mere s'appelle___
(My mum is called___) (My mum is called___)

Moi jem'appelle Grace Mon frere s'appelle___ Ma seour s'appelle___
(My name is Grace) (My brother is called___) (My sister is called___)
That is my family tree ;). This week we have also been doing tech, of course, and we have started building my balloon powered car! We are testing them and competing with other classes to beat the longest distance of 16 meters! (A loooooong way!)
I will upload some photos of the pillow, bag, 'lava lamp' and ice cream watercolor I made in tech arts.

This Friday I have been away, so I missed a Tech Art session =( !I missed out on rolling down the hill of Sherwyn Park in a rubbish bin, so I’m not too devastated about that, though I would’ve wanted to get a video. So far this term for Tech Arts, Science, we have learnt a lot, but not done that much. Have made marble runs in groups as part of a competition with all the other classes, competing for a time closest to 20 seconds, my group’s was 19.99 seconds! So we are winning at the moment.
This week I have been working on a poem to publish. This is what I have so far:
Checkmate
Four rows
opposite sides
two opponents
one winner
First move
and last chance
to own the game
and take it out
Disaster crashes
plastic figures fall
launching your opponent
into a mad winning strike
Panic rises
tension grows
once empty spaces taken
precious moves wasted
Foreign players
circle your king
no escape,
no going back now
Checkmate
Grace
Thankyou to everyone who views my blog page and reads my posts! Just a reminder, don’t be scared to add comments =P

Week 8
Hey everyone!
Sorry, but I can't really remember what happened in week 8, it has been so busy and I have been doing so much, so this blog post will be covering two weeks.
Tech Arts this term is still Science and we have been learning lots but not doing much. So far we have completed a marble run, and we are so far in the lead for the best time! My group consists of me (of course), Hadlee, and Arden. Our time was the closest to 20 seconds, and it was 19.99 seconds exactly! Yaaaaaay!

Week 7 Term 3
Hi everyone!
This week I have started learning about
! I Have learnt about angles, sides, vertices, face and edges. All geometry angles are...reflex, right, straight, obtuse, and revolution. These are what the before stated angles look like:
I have also been doing Tech Arts! YAY! So on Friday, everyone started a new cycle, and now I'm doing Science! On Friday we didn't actually do anything, but we 'experimented' with these "UFO Balls" (or at least that's what Mrs Tyson called them) that light up red, and make a whining noise, but they look really cool. The way to turn them on is this: You have to touch them in a certain area with two human fingers, or your nose or something, but you could also be holding hands with someone, their finger on one side, and your finger on the other side, without your hands touching on the ball, and waala! It lights up!

Week 6 Term 3
I have been soooooo busy last week that I haven't had any time to write a blog post, so today's post will cover last week and this week ;). I will start off with something I really enjoy a TAI; Tech Arts (I am moving on to Science on Friday). So far I have accomplished a tennis ball (these are all out of fabric), pencil case, pillow, a bag, and a half mouse that I haven't had any time to finish, so I think it will stay half finished. What I mean by half finished is that I have sown both halves of the body, and added button eyes, but I just haven't sown together both halves or stuffed it yet.
Last week also, I went to French on a Wednesday, and I learnt how to describe stationery! I will give you some examples with the English translation and the pronunciation underneath:
un Vert stylo -French Written
- Green pen -English translation
on vaght stearlor -Pronunciation
une calculatrice
- calculator
oone calculatreece
If you want to know what the "un" an "une" are then here you go: In French, they have two things called masculine and feminine. No one knows why they are used, but they just are.
Okay, that's enough French, now I'll go onto Friday, Cross Country Day! I was soooo nervous- and exited at the same time-! Anyway, I got any OK score of 32nd place, so I guess I did pretty good.
Week 3 Term 3
Hey people!
it looks a bit like that. (if you take out the first pic :p)
This week has flown by prettay fast, and I have gotten A LOT done. I'll start with the amazing pillow I made in Fabric. I would put a photo, but I don't have any (I'll try get one 4 my next blog post), but, despite that fact, I will still try describe it. Anyway,

Week 9 Term 2
Hi,
Tomorrow, for the FIRST TIME in about four weeks, we are going to have Friday Tech Arts! Yay! I'm as excited as I am because we haven't had Tuesday Tech Arts for as long as that either. Tomorrow as well, it is IH Jump Jam, which stands for "Inter House Jump Jam". Where the four houses (Puniu, Mangapiko, Waipa and Waikato), compete with Jump Jam songs, the teachers judging on their accuracy with the moves, and their enthusiasm as well.
Also, a big hit for this week is Production! Every member of the crew has worked hard, and tonight id the last night available to watch the show, and if you still want to watch it, there a ticket sales at the door, and photos will probably be put on our school website, Te Awamutu Intermediate School. Look under
"Our People", or "About" for the photos, and there might even be a video, probably put there by Mr Monk.
Sadly this week, Waipa did not win School Singing today, Mangapiko did, but we have won it lots of other times anyway, so it is not tooooo much of a loss. We seem to be on a bit of a losing strike at the moment, having lost this weeks' Wednesday Jump Jam yesterday, to Room 15. Anyway, I went and watched the Production Tuesday night, and it was magnificent, apart from a few unexpected mistakes, but no one is perfect. I can't think of much else to write, so I'll add in a bit of French. Au Revoir! (Goodbye!)

This week hasn't produced too much, and we haven't done anything new. The last time we had Tech Arts, was last Friday! We had started the first steps of making a battery powered circuit. We were up to connecting everything so that the power went round, but we didn't have enough time before the bell went, so next time we will be continuing with them, and I will try get a photo.
This is a video of the Jump Jam last week:
For passion hour I have answered all my additional questions that go with my main one; What has been the worst natural disaster on the last ten years? So far I don't know how I'm going to present it, but I have saved some photos for when I do figure out which way I will do it. These are a few of them:
Earlier this week I learnt how to find the are of Tapeziums. This is how you do them:
They are measured in this example with "a", "b" and "h". So you add "a" and "b", and then multiply them by "h" to get the area.
I also learnt how to convert metric measures.

Bonjour, as you know, it was the Queen's Birthday just yesterday, so it was a long weekend according to the fact that her birthday was on Monday, even though it probably would have been a long weekend if it was on Sunday as well. Tomorrow is French, like every Wednesday, and I so hope it's on! I have learnt heaps of words already, and hope to carry on my French, and go to Noumea next year. It is buried with the cluster of islands gathering in between New Zealand and Australia in the Pacific Ocean. (The Pacific Islands) It got taken over by the White French, and now many French go there and tour the mini world of France, built as a sculpture, making a short journey for someone in Australia or New Zealand. Even though I badly want to go this year, I will probably be going next year, since I will only be allowed to go one year, and plus, if I do it next year, i'll have a lot more knowledge than I did last year! Au revoir!

Week 6 Term 4
This week has gone by in a flash, and we have accomplished a lot. On Wednesday was French. Bonjour, Je'mappelle Grace, e toi? Meaning, 'Hi, my name is Grace, and you?' I have also learnt this conversation;
Salut! Je'mappelle Grace, e toi?
Salut, Jesuis Anna
Comment Ca Se Criet?
Sa Ce Creit, A,N,N,A!
Merci, Au Revoir!
Salut!
Converted in English the conversation would be:
Hi! My name is Grace, and you?
Hi, I am Anna
How is that spelt?
It is spelt, A,N,N,A!
Thank you, bye!
Bye!
I also learnt how to pronounce the letters in my name. This how they sound; G=gshe, R=ak, A=ah, C=ce, E=er.
I am also involved in the Gym Festival, festival de salle de gym!

This week has been probably the most exiting week of the year! Or at least for me! Can you guess why?! Yesterday was my birthday! Hooray! Something else this week I have enjoyed is Tech Arts! Mainly cause on Monday we got to see some of the jandals that have been shaped, fired, color glazed, clear glazed, and then survived a final two firings, and after that, were delivered back by Miss Morrison. I haven't seen mine yet, but I will when i finish the watercolor for my ice cream. At the end of last term, we did Summer Sports in our house groups, and soon we will be going into Winter Sports. My Winter Sport (we get to choose) will probably be Volleyball, because ever since we started our first session with Waikato Sport, I have started liking it. It has been raining hard out since last night, so I seriously doubt the Friday Sports happening! Anyway, I don't think there really is much more to put into this post, so I'll at least hope that it will stop raining for Saturday, but I wouldn't really mind Sunday, as I will not have any outdoor sports then, and I will probably be going to inflatable world, and I kinda hope it's inside, or it won't be much fun running around on soaking material and bouncy inflatables (I have never ever been there, but i'm guessing it's somewhere out of the million places I haven't been in Hamilton!

Week 2 Term 2
Once the holidays were over it was time for a serious rush of learning. This week and last week I have completed my character description, started the gloss coat for my clay jandals in Art, gone through the assembly on Friday, which had a main focus on Gallipoli, and how the war went 100 years ago.
Yesterday was PC (pubertal change). Yay...NOT! And it lasted for almost the WHOLE DAY!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Anyway, on a more positive side, this term we have started something called Passion Hour, where if you have a passion you can start on a project to do with it. I've done sketching for my passion. Jorja and I are kind of working together, and its going great. So far I've outlined what I might expect it to come out as, slash the planning of it. Also in Tech Arts (Art) we have started a new project because the jandals will take a few weeks to get fired and put in the oven\kilm. What we've started on is a shape of either something you like or is about New Zealand. I've done an ice-cream with some of it dribbling down the cone, and then filled the rest of it with things I like and are special to New Zealand.

Camp Experience
It was the 22nd of March, last Sunday morning when we (room 3) boarded the bus that would take all of us to our destination we were staying at. The last adult climbed on and snatched a seat, before Gail directed us out of the school grounds, and into the route that would take us to where our week-long stay would be taking place.
After a long 8 hours of looking out the window, or at device screens, the bus parked at the Top 10 Holiday Park. Once the bags and suitcases were unloaded, we were given the key to our cabin. My roommates, Megan, Caitlin, and of course, me, wearily towed our luggage round the block of cabins until we found ours, number 89. When we had arranged our bags tidily, we explored the grounds, and soon found the jumping mat, but unfortunately half the class had seen it before us, and were swarming over it. Not long later, everyone was called to the dining room for dinner.
Monday
We woke up early at seven, wondering what we had planned for today. Our first event was Zealandia, a forest of native trees, birds, and other animals. We left the bus we had traveled on to get there, and entered the atmosphere of Zealandia. We were told that we were going to be doing a big nature walk. The class were separated into groups of two kids and one adult, because these would be our groups for the rest of camp, and then three groups were put together. In our groups, we entered the green landscape, and began our walk. My lot of groups went with Carrie, one of the guides. When we got back from our two hour walk, we had a lunch, then the bus transported us to National Library. There we grasped knowledge about World War 1, and some interesting strategies the soldiers used during the time our country was at war. Later we were given a scavenger hunt sheet, and told to search all around the middle floor of the library for clues. After ten minutes, we gathered by the entrance to mark our sheets. We were all exhausted after our walk, and having to take in a whole gallery-full of new information, but we still had the pools coming! After a ten minute bus trip to the pools we were grateful to jump into the cool water.
H20 Xtreme!!!
Tuesday
Today we had a lot planned! Our first stop was carter observatory, the space center. There we looked at an update of the solar system, found out what it would be like in space, and then we were led into the room with a domed roof, that displayed a movie. It was all about space, and people who had entered a competition to build a space craft that could travel 500 meters on the moon. When the movie was stopped, and the guide who was explaining everything to us turned on the light, it glared into our eyes, temporarily blinding us. Our time at the observatory was over, and we walked out to the path that led to the Cable Car, and ate our lunch. When we had eaten, a whistle pierced the air, alerting us that is was our turn to aboard the Cable Car! Jorja and I turned to face each other, and grinned. This was the first time I had ever been on transport like this, so I was full of curiosity. The car edged it's way down a steep hill, stopping for expectant passengers. As the cable loosened, letting us go further down the hill, dark tunnels caved over us, and more passengers hopped on. At last we reached the station, where everyone coming home from work to get lunch, or needing to get to the other side of the hill, were lined up impatiently, waiting for the cable car. We stepped off the cable car, now unsure of where we were. Our adults told us to make one line, and walk in single file out to the main street, because a rush of hurrying people were surging past us, desperate to get to the cable car before it left without them. We walked and walked and walked until we got to Parliament. Then we had to go through a special metal detector, which beeped on Kacy's mum, and Ben's dad! Then we were led into the room where all the decisions were made! We were talked through a quick power point, and then guess what!? We were taken into the big meeting place, where we watched them argue and bicker. Then we had to walk all the way over to the On TV And Media Studio. There we were seperated into two groups. My group went up the stairs, and into the rooms we would be filming in. The first thing everyone went for was the Wardrobe, to dress up for filming. When we had chosen what we were going to wear for our Presenter part, Oksana, and I sat at the table the cameras were aimed at, and went over our lines from the two tablets on the table in front of us.
Wednesday and Thursday were exploration of Wellington, and then Friday was our last few hours at the camp ground...
We were woken up at 6:00 am in the morning, so dark the stars were still shining. At six thirty, we tumbled onto the lit up bus, pointing out the Southern Cross as we went. And then we drove away, looking behind to take one last glimpse of the campsite.
After a long 8 hours of looking out the window, or at device screens, the bus parked at the Top 10 Holiday Park. Once the bags and suitcases were unloaded, we were given the key to our cabin.

Week 7
Week 7
Hi, everyone! I'm now doing a countdown! Only 4 more days till I depart to Wellington for my room 3 camp! I can hardly wait, and I'm smiling now as I write this! But I'm still a bit...well not quite scared, but nervous in a way. Hey, don't judge! Six whole days being like 200km away from home, and any town\land or whatever I know! Anyway...If you don't know, we ( room 3 ) are going to do sooooo many cool things on camp! For instance: Scuba diving, H2O Extreme, Zealandia, Parliament...and so much more! It's going to be an amazing camp!

oh, and don't forget to add comments once you have read my blog posts! I would really like to know what you think about them! ;)
