Week 1 Term 2

Hé, il est Terme 2!
Hey, it's Term 2!
Week 1:
Mike King

This week on Tuesday we had a talk from Mike King.
Mike King is a famous comedian, who talked to us about depression and addiction, and how he got over being alcoholic and a drug addict.
He told us that as a kid he got bullied for having  a big head, so other kids called him Head. Every day he sat outside the staff room, because if you sat outside the staff room, kids wouldn't bully you, because they would get caught because the teachers would see them.
When he got slightly older, he started telling jokes, and he was asked into the 'popular kids' group.
They used him to bully other kids, and at first he didn't realize. But when the kids made him pick on his friend, Nigel, he didn't have the courage to say no to them, and he bullied his friend, because when he was with the 'popular' group, they didn't pick on him.
But eventually they got bored of him, and they kicked him out.
As he got older, he got more and more depressed, and he showed it in anger, and sometimes he had anger spasms over absolutely nothing.
When he was about twenty, I think, he went to his mate's house, who was a police, and took out his depression on him. The policeman friend then suggested he get a councilor because Mike had depression. He completely disagreed, so the police friend took him over to his councilor; Stella.
Stella talked to Mike about how he was, who he was etc.
He then said that she thought he had depression. He disagreed angrily, until Stella told him that the first sign of depression in men was anger.
She then talked about him and his addictions for drugs and alcohol, and gave him some solutions to get back on track again.
Now he is a better husband to his wife, father to his children, and friend to others.

Tech Arts

This week for tech arts we have been learning how to measure PH levels in a liquid.
We used the color-changing paper strips, and put them in different liquids to watch them change color. Then we put them on our tongues, and they were green.

I finally have my Moonboot off!
Yes!
So, now I can actually do things!

Au Revoir!
