Week 3 Term 2

Bonjour;

This week we have started a new writing task; report writing.
For this, we had to choose out of six different animals to write about, panda, giraffe, meerkat, bottle nose dolphin, hector's dolphin or bumblebees. There were a lot of people doing the panda, so I chose to do my report on hector's dolphins. With our reading task, we had to read a story, that was phrased in old words that we don't use anymore, and then use the thesaurus or dictionary to look up the meanings of the highlighted old words. When we had finished, we then have to write a summary about the story, the traits and attitudes of the characters, and what they did to change the story, and what impact they made on the story.

For Tech Arts, we have started a new cycle, which means we start on a new subject out of the six subjects we have throughout the year. Our new cycle is Music.  For music, we are taught how to play different songs and tunes on the keyboard, different strings and sounds on the guitar, and we also learn a bit of drums. Currently we are learning about Irish music and created some of our own tunes to play on the keyboard. Mine was made up of C's and E's only because I am not a musical person, and I don't have a complex understanding of music and notes and strings etc.

On Wednesday and Thursday, most of our class was out for those two days for Music Camp, or, more accurately, Music Workshop, because our school didn't camp the night. I don't know much about Music Workshop, or what it was like, because I don't play any instrument so I wasn't part of it. I do know that all of the school that played an instrument went to the hall and ALC along with other schools that came, and camped, to learn about music and know how to play their instrument better. The travelling schools camped over the night, and for the two days they played and learnt music, and worked up to a small concert that they showed some of the school, that I didn't see.

We didn't have JumpJam or French this week, but I hope we have them next week.

Au Revoir
